Station display for automobile radio - has mechanically actuated display slide coupled to station selector keys

A car radio with station selector keys has a mechanism operated display for indicating the wavelength. In plan view the radio has a rear slide switching stage (1) that adopts different positions dependent upon the wavelength selected. A display actuating lever (2) is fixed to the slide at one end and has a ball shaped profile at the other that locates in the display slide (5). The lever has an elongated slot (6) that permits vertical displacement for the various stations. The display slide is produced with four transparent windows,each with a station symbol in contrast, e.g. L.M.V.U. The slide is guided in the front facia and is illuminated by a suitably located bulb.
