<p>Power supply section feeds the primary side of a transformer and the secondary side of the transformer supplies electrical energy to the power-consuming section of the appts. The appts. is separated, whilst under tension, from the power supply without the setting up of dangerous sparks, by a device which breaks the magnetic circuit of the transformer between the primary side and the secondary side, mechanically. Pref. the primary side of the transformer is dimensioned so that during continuous operation it acts as an open chock, since after the mechanical separation of the secondary side, the primary flow rises considerably. Method is esp. for use in zones where there is the risk of explosion, as in mines, refineries, paint works, etc.</p> |
