An upholstery button as in the main patent has a flexible stem (12) with a conical head (14) one end for the button assembly (15) and a shouldered head (61) at the other end for securing to a support (71). The shouldered head has an end portion (62) which snaps into a domed piece (11). - Spaced from this end portion (62) is a collar (65) which retains the flexible stem when the stem is pushed down a slot (72) in the end of the support (71). The end portion (62) is pushed through a tapered hole (68) in the domed piece. It is then housed in a recess (67) for a flush fitting.
