1466632 Feeding sheets M MATSUO 3 April 1975 [4 May 1974] 13729/75 Heading B8R Sheets are separated from the bottom of a pile resting on two laterally spaced and parallel suction belts 27 above a suction box 34, the front of the pile being supported by vertically adjustable grooves 4. Each belt passes round a drive pulley 11, guide pulleys 13, 15, and a pulley 12 connected to the pulleys 11, 13 by arms 19, 20. When the pulley 12 is moved upwards by a cam 24, it acts through an arm 18<SP>1</SP> to operate a valve 37 and connect the box 34 to a suction source, whereupon the bottom blank is moved by the belts under the gates and on to a permanently operative suction box 34<SP>1</SP> and thence to a processing station. A pneumatic cylinder is operable to raise the front of the pile clear of the belts and prevent separation taking place. |
