<p>A tire mold in which tread mold segments are moved radially by a coned ring between sidewall plates which bear against the moving segments. Link means connecting each segment to the upper plate enable the segments to be retracted into the ring by moving the upper plate. The link means provides sufficient relative separation between the upper plate and the segments to prevent friction, wear, and binding therebetween during such retraction.</p> |
