Vapour treating dyed polyester textiles - to effect removal of dye in certain regions

Polyester based textile articles are dyed and then printed with e.g. a paste according to a pattern. The textile articles are then vapour treated at 100 degrees C so that the paste removes the original dye to leave a colourless area which can be subsequently dyed a different colour. The textile articles may be of fibres of butylene polyterephthalate which may be modified by 6% of a polyglycol. A better breaking down of and removal of the dye is achieved than with conventional vapour treatments at 130 degrees C.
