<p>The installation is of the type comprising an inclined conveyor made up of two bands of different widths, running alongside each other from a feed hopper at the bottom to deliver into an automatic weigher at the top. The wider, fast fill, band is stopped as the batch wt. is approached and the narrower, fine fill, band brings the batch up to wt. The weigher delivers batches into sacks which are then sealed. The conveyor is designed to elevate a single layer only of bulk prod. Pref. each band has transverse flights of height sufficient to prevent only a single layer from rolling back into the hopper. Each band pref. runs between close side walls of flight height so that the width of band load is defined. Each band is pref. vibrated to ensure that surplus prod. rolls back into the hopper. Used for filling sacks etc. with weighed batches of potatoes, other vegetables, fruit or similar bulk prod. There is improved weight control of sacked batches.</p> |
