<p>A device for measuring physical and/or chemical properties e.g. temp. or compsn., of a material in an aggressive environment, comprises two pipes along which several probes are distributed, and devices locate the pipes in a container using limit stops so that the pipes are above at least half the surface profile of material in the container, and at a uniform distance from the surface of the material. The pipes may be joined by a hinge, each pipe contg. a row of thermocouples; and the outer ends of the pipes are mounted in the container wall.</p> |
