A Cu base alloy consists of 2-11% Sn, 0.01-0.3%, P, 0.2-0.8% of a transition metal selected from Cr, Zn, Ti, V and mixts. thereof, and 0.3-2.0% of Fe and/or co, the total of Fe + Co being >=0.8%, balance Cu. The alloy has a grain size 0.010 mm and contains particulate phases uniformly dispersed throughout the matrix, of which a first phase contains an Fe and/or Co-transition metal intermediate phase comprising a solid soln., and a second phase contains Fe and/or Co - transition metal phosphides. In the wrought condition the alloy has good hot rollability, stress corrosion resistance, strength properties, and bend characteristics.
|
