<p>The enclosure is suitable for erection round a balcony, or a small plot of land. It consists of a lower chord attached to posts, and a handrail, at an interval from this, carried across fixed support bars. It allows a view of the surroundings, while being easily screened from outsiders looking in. A series of elongated lamellae of wood, metal, plastics or other materials are mounted in close proximity, turnable like the slats in a venetian blind. Their longitudinal axes are set parallel to the vertical support bars. The gap between lamellae does not exceed the width of each lamella. All the lamellae may be mounted to turn the same way together on a guide-rail.</p> |
