<p>A comminutor for plastic pieces and other materials has a solid rotor (1) fitted with blades (2) having cutting edges parallel to the centre line of the rotor. Where the blades are fitted, the outside surface of the rotor has longitudinal grooves (13). The grooves are shaped so that when a blade is fitted to the rotor, its cutting edge protrudes beyond the cylindrical surface of the rotor and there is a channel between the underside of the blade and the groove. The depth of this groove increases in a direction opposite to the sense of rotation of the rotor. The rotor can also be fitted with short sections of blades arranged on the rotor in a radially staggered pattern.</p> |
