<p>Polish consists of an aq. dispersion of 5-40 (wt.)pts. (co)-polyacrylate (I) cross-linked with metal, 1-15 pts. oxidised wax (II), 0.5-20 pts. phosphate or phthalate ester plasticiser (III), 0.6-10 pts. high boiling, water miscible solvent (IV), 0.2-5 pts. 3-12C aliphatic alcohol (V), 0.05 pt. flow aid (VI), 0-5 pts. (alkanol)amine (VII) and 0-5 pts. perfumes, dyes and corrosion inhibitors. It is useful esp. for polishing car bodies. The compsn. gives long-term protection and a good gloss without rubbing up. A suitable compsn. was e.g. 40 g. 40% aq. dispersion of Zn-cross-linked polyacrylate, 18 g. 35% aq. oxidised polyethylene wax dispersion, both contg. emulsifier, 1.6 g. dodecanol, 6 g. tributyloxyethyl phosphate, 1.5 g. dibutyl phthalate. 2 g. EtO(CH2CH2O)2H and 2.5 g. Pr2NH in water to 100 g.; pH 9-11.</p> |
