The electrical heating cable, for heating a covering, e.g. floors, channels etc. has two thermocouple wires (6, 7) wound in parallel over the entire length of, and inside, the cable, but they do not touch. These wires can be joined together at any point along the cable and are used to measure the temperature of the inside of the cable at their junction point. Measuring the temperature inside the cable also gives a measure of the cable's loading. The thermocouple wires may be wound around the bundle of cable conductors inside the cable's outer sleeve or alternatively, located inside the bundle of conductors themselves.
|
