<p>The double layer livestock transporter has a limited headroom on each layer. A movable bulkhead (9) slides along each layer on guide rails (2) along the sides of the transporter, using trolleys (11, 12). The bulkheads are operated by double cable winches from a drum (39) at the front. The animals are slowly moved towards the ramp at the back of the vehicle. The bulkheads enable the double layers to be cleared without operators having to crawl into the limited headroom. The transporter is suitable for small livestock such as sheep and pigs. The bulkheads can be used when the layers are partially filled, to contain the stock and prevent injury during transport.</p> |
