The booster supercharger compressor with its own drive is used especially in low compression, high performance diesel engines. The supercharger makes available on optimum air quantity for any operating point. The supercharger also uses engine exhaust gases and the supercharger compressor delivers compressed air to its own driving gas turbine and to the engine. Parts of the air compressed in the compressor is supplied to the engine. Another part is supplied to another compressor. Air compressed in the second compressor is heated in a combustion chamber and supplied to an expansion turbine. The gas leaving the expansion turbine and the exhaust gas from the engine are expanded in another expansion turbine to the atmospheric pressure.
