The Hydraulic lift is for lifting invalids in an dout of baths. The invalid is aided to sit down or get out by means of a water, oil or air pressure piston and cylinder (2, 3, 4). The apparatus is fixed to an arm pivoting out to the wall, or to a portable carriage with its own electrical energy perhaps as a compressor pumping air, water or oil so that the lift can be driven like a crane into any required position. Water pressure is used with a multi-direction tap (6) feeding the water into the cylinder or letting it flow out of it. A ram (9) is arranged between the tap and the cylinder water inlet so that the ram fills before the water pressure acts on the cylinder.
