Press sealer for foil containers - has plates with opening for supporting container edge flange sealed by movable head

The containers are produced from a light metal foil and have an edge which includes a number of transport plates in which each container is held supported in one opening by its edge flange. The transport plates with the containers are moved to a sealing station in which the edge flange of the containers is sealed by a lowered sealing head. The dia. of the openings (6) for the containers is so selected that the containers are supported only by an outer part (4) of their edge flange (3). In the space between the opening (6) and the container (2) is positioned an upwards projecting support head (12) which with its top surface supports the remaining part of the edge flange (3) during sealing.
