<p>Device for priming a water pump by automatic discharge from a water tank without supplying energy comprises a float which is coupled to a closure mechanism and which, when max. water level is reached in a water tank, has sufficient buoyancy to counteract water pressure acting on the closure mechanism in the outlet opening of the tank, thus allowing water to run off in a quantity sufficient to prime a siphon pipe. When the closure mechanism is raised, water enters and fills an air gap between the closure mechanism and pipe inlet, water pressure on the closure mechanism is released, the buoyancy of the float overcomes the suction due to initial water run-off, the closure mechanism rises and water enters the pipe in a quantity exceeding output of the pipe, thus setting it in operation until the closure mechanism once against rests on the outlet opening.</p> |
