Small three phase generator transformer - has outer ring core joining arms of three armed inner star core

A 3-phase transformer, for e.g. a generator is small and simple to assemble and install, and has a star-shaped inner core (4) with 3 arms (10) at 120 deg. to one another, and an outer core (6) that connects the ends of the arms. Three secondary coils (4) are wound either around the arms or around their connecting pieces formed by parts of the circular outer core. The two cores are manufactured separately and joined by pressing together. The conductors carrying the primary current pass through spaces between two adjacent arms of the inner core.
