The propulsion nozzle comprises panels A 1 , A 2 , B 1 , B 2 &c. which are hinged together and slidably interfit so as to be movable under control of jacks V, V 1 , V 2 into a square cruise position, Fig. 2, a take-off position with silencing in a horizontal plane, Fig. 1, or an overflight position with silencing in a vertical plane, Fig. 4.
