1465740 Two-part couplings AMP Inc 2 Sept 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 38231/74 Heading H2E [Also in Division E2] An electrical contact, Fig. 2, made from sheet material, comprises a rigid post 2 and a resilient loop 3 extending from one end of the post. The contact is located by a projecting lug (not shown) in an insulating housing 6 with holes 8, the loop pressing against the inside of the cavity 7. The housing has a central boss 9 which contains a blind bore 10, Fig. 7, counterbored to give a region of greater diameter 11. A post 12 having a short enlarged ring 13 protrudes from side 15 of the housing of a size such that several housings may be mated together to form a block. Two cap portions 40 and 42 complete the block. A contact pin is inserted through one of the rectangular holes 8, deforming the resilient portion 3, boss 9 serving to contain deformation within elastic limits. The pin is secured in place by a clip (not shown) over one of the abutments 14. |
