<p>The elements are made out of concrete and provided with protruding reinforcement bars and cavities into which bonding concrete is poured and in which the reinforcements are countersunk. In order to facilitate the erection of buildings using such elements, the elements have iron fittings cast in which are so arranged that they can be easily joined to similar fittings on adjacent elements, thus locking the elements securely together. The fittings are joined by means of a head on one element sliding into a sleeve on the adjacent element. The use of these fittings means that the building can be erected quickly and accurately without the need for constant adjustment and the necessity for pouring concrete on site is eliminated.</p> |
