<p>A process for producing a novel penicillin and cephalosporin which contain a monooxo- or dioxopiperazino-(thio)carbonylamino group in molecule and which are valuable anti-bacterial compounds for use in mammals including man, by reacting an imino ether compound having a .beta.-lactam ring with a reactive derivative in the carboxyl group of an amino acid having a mono- or di-oxo-piperazino carbonyl group, thereafter hydrolyzing the resulting reaction product and, if necessary, removing the protecting group.</p> |
