1475850 Cartridge operated nailing tools BETTERMANN ELECTRO OHG 6 Oct 1975 [7 Oct 1974] 40763/75 Heading B4C To vary the combustion chamber size in a cartridge operated nailing gun when the barrel 13 is pulled out forwardly, the piston 5 is stopped by a member 7 and the extent of withdrawal of the barrel is controlled by rotatably mounted cam 11 which engages the rearward end of a depression 15 which rearward end may be stepped (as in Fig. 2) or sloping (as in Fig. 9) so that different axial lengths of barrel may be left behind the end of the driven piston. The relative positions of barrel and piston are retained as the barrel is pushed in again prior to firing by a ring 25 on the piston which locates in recesses 26 in the barrel. The various positions of cam 11 may be selected by a spring urged ball 18 in recesses 19 and rotation may also be prevented by a repeater slider 27. In Fig. 10 the cam is continuously variable. Other slight modifications are described.
|
