As shown, the water header 21 with pipes 22 is turned axially by a fluid motor 23 moving the streams 24 over the coke 26 in the car 25. The oscillations may vary from 1-15 within 2 mins., preferably 2-5 within 75 sees., and the streams 24 may be directed at the highest point of the coke for 30-50% of the total quench time.</p> |
