PURPOSE:To provide the powder for sintering which does not generate abnormal secondary grains and yields sintered bodies having a high density and excellent physical and chemical characteristics by constituting the material to be sintered, such as the nitride, etc., of covalent bondable metals, of fine powder having specific grain sizes and the superfine powder sticking to the surface. CONSTITUTION:The material which consists of the covalent bondable metals, such as Al, and the nitride, carbide, carbonitride or oxynitride of B or Si and is to be sintered is constituted of A) the fine powder having 0.3 to 10mum and B) the superfine powder having <=0.1mum average grain size and sticking to the surface thereof to form the powder for sintering. The ratio of the A and B is preferably specified to X/(X+Y)<=0.4 when the respective molar numbers are expressed by X and Y. The B may be the same material as the A and may be an assistant consisting of the oxide of group IIa or IIIa element and the oxide exclusive of the A, boron assistant or carbon assistant. |
