A single-turn induction heating coil for the production of dislocation-free, monocrystalline semiconductor rods with large diameters is provided which, in contrast to prior art single-turn coils which have a substantially circular configuration, is configured to form one or more recesses corresponding to the free space formed between the ends of the coil as they merge into the current supply lines. The recesses are arranged in a circle about the axis of rotation passing through the center of the coil, with the distance between the free space formed between the ends of the coils as they pass into the current supply lines and an adjacent recess being equal to the distance between adjacent recesses. |
