Magnetic drive for false twist spindle - projection on samarium cobalt pole plates urge spinner against driving roller

Appts. for driving a spinner during false twisting yarns, with a magnet attracting the spinner to the outer surface of the driving roller has a pair of circular magnetic pole plates, fixed to upper and lower plates of the magnet, encompassing the driving roller with gaps above and below the roller. Each plate has a projection extending from the centre of roller to the spinner to urge the spinner against the roller. The magnet is made from a rare earth metal - samarium cobalt. Appts. is used to engage false twisting spindles to drive roller. Metal has high magnetic strength so smaller size is required and can be placed in the narrow space in front of the spinner of the driving roller.
