<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for accessing texture data. SOLUTION: This texture mapping computer graphics system is provided with a host computer 15 which has a main memory 17 which stores texture data, a local memory 48 which stores a part of the texture data, and a texture cell data buffer which stores texture cells in the local memory 48 to which access is performed the most lately. Access to the texture data is performed from the texture cell data buffer, and as long as the texture cells to be read are not present in the texture cell data buffer, access to the texture cells stored in the local memory is performed.</p> |
