1374097 Dyeing and optical brightening textiles STX 11 Nov 1971 [5 Feb 1971] 52430/71 Addition to 1312316 Headings D1B and D1P [Also in Division A5] Textile fibres and fabrics e.g. wool, polyamides, cellulosic esters, polyesters and acrylic fibres are treated by exhaustion processes with dyes or optical brightening agents in a solvent mixture comprising (I) at least one non-polar solvent in which the dye or optical brightener is soluble and at least one non-polar solvent in which the dye or optical brightener is insoluble or only sparingly soluble, or (II) at least one polar solvent in which the dye or optical brightening agent is soluble and at least one polar solvent in which they are not soluble or only sparingly soluble, or (III) at least one non-polar solvent in which the dye or optical brightening agent is soluble and at least one polar solvent in which they are insoluble or only sparingly soluble. In examples solvent mixtures employed include, methanolperchloroethylene, 2 - chloroethanol - trichloroethylene - perchloroethylene, methanol - isopropanol - glacial acetic acid - perchloroethylene, methanol-water, methanol-isopropanol - perchloroethylene, pyridine-water. |
