The rotary newspaper-printing machine has a deflector (2) guiding the folded sheets into a pocket (21) on a delivery roller (6 or 7). The guide is controlled by a cam mechanism so that after a certain number of sheets have passed onto one roller it is moved to guide subsequent sheets to the other roller. The newspapers paps from the roller to a storage bin (10 or 11) where they rest on a vertically movable floor (13 o4 14). Floor movement is effected by mechanical controls (15 or 16) kinematically connected to the drive shaft (17, 18) of a delivery roller by a cam mechanism (19, 20). The cam disc profile (21, 22) moves the bin floor downwards at a speed necessary for the periodic compression of the newspapers by the ribs on the delivery rollers.
