The support system, for the resistor that is connected between a contact pair of a switch used to regulate a transformer, has stationary main and auxiliary contacts fixed onto an insulating tube and movable main auxiliary contacts inside the tube. (The resistors are connected between the main and auxiliary fixed contacts.) The resistors are located inside rectangular vertical cavities formed between upper and lower horizontal plates and separated by vertical partitions. The upper and lower plates have bevelled slots opposite each cavity to allow the ends of the resistors to pass out.
