Convertible tent extension on car - has lifting rear tailgate with unfolding U:shaped overhead extension frame with locking hinges

The car tailgate (2) is hinged at the roof line (14) and opens upwards to above the horizontal. A U shaped channel is hinged at each end to the inside surface of the base of the tailgate. Ordinarily the channel is folded flat against the inside of the tailgate but is extended when the car converts into a tent. The hinges for the extension can lock in position providing an overhead frame for the tent material. The tent material is attached at its top edge to the edge of th tailgate and the U shaped channel, and its bottom edge is in contact with the ground.
