A device for welding a cover to a container of thermoplastic material, such as an accumulator box, by the mirror-welding technique, has the welding mirror in the form of a frame which covers the two surfaces to be welded together. The frame is in two parts, arranged in such a way that, when they are displaced relatively to each other to open and close the frame, the least possible motion is necessary. The welding mirror has heating surfaces restricted to the absolute practical minimum size and the time required for insertion and withdrawal is the absolute minimum. |
