The document feed device consists of a document magazine (12) feeding papers ove the surface of a large diameter drive roller (26) under the influence of a spring operated lever arm (22) to a pick-up region between the drive roller, a brake roller (30) and a small reaction roller (32), of hard material, typically steel. The documents proceed to a slot (48) opposite an anvil plate (50) just above a guide roller (60) in contact with the main drive roller, which has access to the latter through a slot. Each document is arrested and released by a reciprocating lever (54,56) which moves into and out from the slot. |
