Carrier for group of cans - consists of heat-shrinkable biaxially oriented plastics strip

The strip has a series of openings for the reception of the cans which are to form the packet and the shape and dimension of the openings are such that sufficient shrinkage occurs during use of the external force, to retain the cans firmly and to connect them together. Pref. the plastics is PVC. The plastics pref. has a different shrinkage along the two mutually perpendicular orientation axes. Provides a simple carrier holding them firmly in place and connecting them together and capable to accepting rough handling if need be. The carrier is applied with a simple apparatus of high throughput, permitting, in conjunction with the carrier, the upper ends of the cans to be protected and kept clean until unpacked.
