Letter box with spring-loaded flap - has frame assembled from two cross pieces and two end pieces which slot together

This letter box has a frame built up from two cross pieces (1) of multi-angled section and two end pieces (2). The end pieces have projections which seat into the cross pieces. The cover flap (E) is hung on an axle located in the end pieces (2) and has a weighted lower edge so assist in self closing. The flap (E) is also loaded by a light leaf spring above the hinge to avoid rattling through wind. The frame is fixed into the door by means of bolts held in slots behind the end pieces (2). Each end piece has a tongue between the two cross pieces on which can be added a bell push (11). An opening (13) is also provided in the lower crosspiece in which can be held a name plate.
