<p>A reflector for selective-emission light sources consists of material of high reflectivity, pref. anodised aluminium sheet. It has a protective coating of which the structure relative to its thickness allows interference colours to be mixed to form white light. The thickness of the protective coating is pref. non-uniform, and the structure of small areas relative to the thickness is undulating, sawtooth-like, step-like or trapezoidal. The areas of different thickness may be less than 25 sq. mm., pref. less than 1 sq. mm. The thickness of the coating is pref. 2-20 mu. The non-uniform thickness of the coating produces different interference waves in closely adjacent areas, and therefore different splitting of the spectrum, the different spectral bands of the light sources combining to form white light in the overall optical impression.</p> |
