Open:end spinning machine - with spinning stations at which yarns breaks occur following tripping and which are corrected by devices on starting the machine

Machine having a control device for joint tripping and re-starting of all its spinning stations is provided with a common first electric motor for driving the fibre tow supply devices of the stations, their spinning cups, yarn draw off and winding devices. The cups and the devices are interconnected with the drive by means of releasable couplings and the devices are further associated with a coupling for co-operation with a reversibly driven member. Machine is further provided with a second electric motor for driving the fibre openers and with a third motor for driving the induced draught fan. A control device is arranged such that on switching on for tripping the cups it produces a pulse for reducing the speed of the first motor to a slow spinning starting speed of the devices and a pulse for opening of the valves for ejector nozzles, a further pulse for releasing the couplings and a pulse for switching off the yarn monitors being produced when the starting speed has been attained; control device then produces a succession of pulses to release the coupling between the motor and the devices and actuation of brakes for these devices, to actuate the yarn cutting devices following stopping of devices and to close the valves, to de-energise the motor; the device producing a succession of pulses for re-starting the spinning by energising the second and third electric motors and tripping couplings and yarn monitors on reaching the slow speed; the preceding pulses being followed by a pulse to switch the motor for running at its high speed until the slow speed is attained; a pulse for opening the valves and pulse for connection of the devices to the reversibly driven member through its coupling, the driving connection being interrupted when the yarns have reached the spinning groove of the cups, whereupon a pulse is produced to connect the devices to the couplings and close the valve; a pulse for energising the yarn monitors and finally a pulse for bringing the motor to its high speed. All spinning stations are re-started simultaneously with yarn ends being fed to spinning cups, following tripping of machine during which a yarn break occurs at each station.
