Synchronisation of multi motor windscreen wipers - with binary counters to monitor impulse output of each motor

The large area windscreen wipers are each fitted with a separate drive motor. The motor pole pieces are arranged to provide a set number of impulses for each complete sweep. The impulses are fed to separate binary counters whose outputs are constantly compared by comparator circuits. A feedback control regulates the speed of the fastest motor to that of the slowest. This ensures a good control of synchronisation without a complex circuitry. The comparator circuits can be simplified to two circuits, one between each set of two impulse counters, for a three motor wiping system.
