PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for thermally discoloring a color print significantly in the printing direction of a coloring/discoloring leuco type rewrite card using a rewrite card reader/writer. SOLUTION: Following to a conventional means for carrying a leuco type rewrite card C on the card carrying path 1 of a rewrite card reader/writer and performing thermal discoloring process entirely for a printed part P at a thermal discoloring section 3, the printed part P is blown with air flow or brought into contact with a thermally conductive cooling body 5a and cooled forcibly in a forced cooling section 5 at a cooling rate satisfying the cooling conditions. Subsequently, the printed part P is subjected to thermal printing at a known thermal printing section 4 and the leuco type rewrite card C is discharged. According to the method, a satisfactory print discoloring processing can be carried out within about 2 sec as compared with a conventional means requiring 15 sec. |
