The rotary shaft of a canned motor driven pump has a hole extending in an axial direction from one end of the rotary shaft. An enlarged chamber is formed in the hole at a position distant from the end of the rotary shaft and has a diameter larger than that of the hole, forming shoulders at boundaries between the hole and the enlarged chamber. A sealed pipe is provided at its one end with an enlarged sensitive portion and at its other end with an indicator. The enlarged sensitive portion is enclosed in the enlarged chamber of the rotary shaft. To the end of the rotary shaft may be secured an end nut with the hole and the enlarged chamber formed in it. The sealed pipe may be composed of an indicating part and a detecting part telescopically engaged with each other.
