1316496 Mobile buffing arm apparatus G F WEYHAUSEN 18 May 1970 [17 May 1969] 23909/70 Heading B8H [Also in Division F1] A hollow articulated arm has a mechanically operable extension stage 6 in telescopic relation with an hydraulically operable extension stage 5, the stage 6 being extendible beyond the stage 5, an extension cylinder unit 3 located on the rear wall of, and within, the hydraulically operable extension stage 5, having a piston-rod 1 pivotally connected to a support 13 at the rear end of the arm. Conduits for the supply and exhaust of hydraulic fluid are indicated diagrammatically at 7 and 8. Bolts (not shown) may be provided to limit extension of the stages. As shown the stage 6 is manually extended. The arm may be employed on a loading crane (Fig. 3, not shown). The radius of action of the arm may be increased by duplicating the cylinder unit 3. |
