The disc brake has an ass)mbly comprising an actuator and two friction pads which is pivoted about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the disc. The pivotal axis of the assembly is positioned in the space between the two surfaces of the disc. The assembly comprises two arms, a support having a rod detachably fixed to a mounting. One of the arms and two spacer elements are inserted between a head associated with the rod and the mounting. The rod passes through a slot in the arm, the axis of the slot being perpendicular to the pivotal axis of the assembly. The face of the spacer which cooperates with the mounting is pref. cylindrical.
