<p>An apparatus is claimed for the manufacture of netting from thermoplastic strands, for freight and sport applications or of metallic strands for use in electric fencing, with a unit to advance a number of longitudinal strands below a die pair arranged across the strands to mould a plastic mass at the crossing points of the longitudinal strands with cross strands for bonding. A gripper system is provided to draw the cross strands alternately above and below the die line by drawing them across the longitudinal strands from opposite directions. The system provides a synchronized action in laying the longitudinal strands and positioning the cross strands for bonding, ensuring that the strands are kept at the required tension without breaking or distorting the thermoplastic material.</p> |
