PURPOSE:To improve a resistance to moisture and a resistance to heat by a method wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye, a color developer making said leuco dye produce color when coming into contact with said leuco dye, and a specific aromatic compound is laminated on a substrate to form a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:A leuco dye, a color developer, and a compound shown by a formula I (R represents hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, or halogen atom) are dispersed together in a dispersion medium, such as water, by using a stirring and grinding machine, such as a ball mill to prepare a coating liquid. This coating liquid is applied on a substrate, such as paper or a plastic film, and dried to form a thermal color-forming layer thereon. In this manner, a thermal recording material is obtained. As the aforesaid color developer, 4,4'- isopropylidene bisphenol and stearyl gallate I serving as a sensitivity improver, a compound shown by a formula II is exemplified. |
