Billet loader and tilter for hot rolling mills - where billet clamping head can move in three mutually perpendicular directions

A clamping head, for a tilter-pusher used in conjunction with a rolling mill, is provided with a mounting plate fitted with guides and two relatively moveable clamps. The moving clamp is provided with a groove forming a cavity with the other clamp which matches the profile of the workpiece being rolled. The pref. clamps consist of a pair of rolls each having a groove to suit the cross-section of the workpiece.
