The rear wheel independed suspension arms have inward lateral extensions (3) splined to inner torsion bars (12) which are fixed rigidly to the body shell. The extensions from each suspension arm meet centrally underneath the car and are each connected to separate circular metal plates (21, 22) with splined mouths (23, 24). Chassis mounted rubber collars (11) support the arms. A rubber ring (20) is bonded to the two plates and has a limited elasticity. If the car turns a corner slowly, there is no interaction between the two arms, but a high speed cornering the rubber ring become progressively stiffer and prevents further rolling of the car.
|
