The double leaf sliding fire doors have one leaf accommodating a wicket door, and utilise "labyrinth" joints at the leaf-to-leaf interface. The labyrinth joint is used at the junction (4) of the major sliding leaves (1, 2) and also on the periphery of the wicket door (3). Joint zones pref. have two mutually opposed cover plates with rear cavities filled with a spongy mass sealant and arranged with a mutual stagger. The major leaf joint is formed by a groove in the one leaf edge which is engaged by a rib projecting from the opposite leaf. The wicket door joint has rebated and projecting thermally insular plaques on the wicket door edges which are covered by the overlap reciprocating formations on the edges of the major leaf opening.
|
