The carriage way surface ramps for installation in the advance proximity of 'Stop' signs are reduced in width to provide an unramped corridor for two-wheeled traffic. The ram has a vertically stepped leading edge and an inclined major plane surface. The inclined surface eventually runs in to the normal carriageway surface at a specified distance away from the 'Stop' sign. The ramp is of a rectangular plan form and all lateral faces are rounded. The two wheel traffic may be a 0.5 metre unramped strip which is provided adjacent to the kerb. Alternatively a less severe ramp may be provided in this kerbside zone. |
